2 If the tz'u was a musical rather than strictly a poetic form, the same holds true in theory for the Shih ching. The tz'u, like the ancient shih, continued to be studied and practiced long after its exact musical nature became a matter of conjecture. The remaining texts are poetry and nothing else.
