Improvement of Laying-Capacity. Come si può raddoppiare la Produzione invernale di Uova. R. Giuliani, Pollaio Provinciale di Firenze. Rivista Zootecnica, 31 Luglio 1932.

In order to decide the influence of a good cock on bad hens, 24 peasant hens were bought in 1930 in the vicinity of Florence. These were divided into 2 groups of 12 each. The average production of the first group amounted to: winterlaying 17.6 eggs, totally 97 eggs. Of the second group these figures were resp. 13.1 and 103.
