1 Violations of the Act or Regulations, or anyorder or license issued under the Act, may result inthe imposition of administrative sanctions, and alsoor alternatively of a fine or imprisonment asdescribed in paragraph (a) of this section, seizure orforfeiture of property under 22 U.S.C. 401, or anyother liability or penalty imposed by law. The U.S.Department of Commerce may compromise andsettle any administrative proceeding brought withrespect to such violations.
2 The U.S. Department of Commerce may refundthe penalty at any time within two years of paymentif it is found that there was a material error of factor of law.
1 For purposes of Part 387, the Office of ExportEnforcement enforces the Export AdministrationRegulations relating to short supply controlsimposed under section 7 of the Act.Such controlsare otherwise the responsibility of the Office ofIndustrial Resource Administration.
