The advanced text of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, particularly in Africa, was adopted by the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for a Convention to Combat Desertification (INCD), in Plenary, on June 17, 1994. The final text of the Convention will be established, in all United Nations official languages, once the linguistic verification process is completed. As of September 21, 1994, the Convention had not been opened to signature.
