[The United States signed the Convention on May 14, 1966, and on March 1, 1967, the U.S. Senate gave its advice and consent to ratification. As of March 24, 1967, the United States had not yet deposited its instrument of ratification.
[As of February 17, 1967, the following other states had signed the Convention on the dates indicated: Brazil (May 14, 1966), Spain (May 14, 1966), Republic of Korea (May 31, 1966), and Japan (October 28, 1966) . As of February 17, 1967, none of these had deposited instruments of ratification, approval, or adherence with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.]
