Effects of sublethal doses of gamma radiation on the mating ability and spermatophore transfer of Ephestia cautella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

Abstract

The ability of males of Ephestia cautella to mate and transfer sperms aftergamma radiation as 5–6–day old pupae was investigated. The results indicate that gamma radiation had no significant effect on mating, sperm transfer and percentage of egg hatch.

Résumé

L'aptitude des males, Ephestia cautella pour conjoint et des spermes transfere après l'irradiation gamma des chrysalides âgées 5–6 jours ont été étudiés. Les réultats ont été montrés que l'irradiation gamma n'a pas un effet significat pour les conjoint, spermes transfère et aussi sur le pourcentage déclore d'oeuf.
