Seasonal changes in feeding, fat body and ovarian conditions of Nezara viridula L. (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae)

Abstract

Most dissected Nezara viridula (91.6%) from night catches had their stomach filled (half-full-full) with food, and females had a higher feeding activity than males. Females outweighed males at the ratio 1.3: 1, and an individual was heavier in October than in May. Ovarian development corresponded closely with decreasing fat body of females, and immature individuals had maximum fat in the abdomen. The spent individuals with empty stomach and fat thinly spread over the venter were relatively abundant in April and May, implicating the possibility of large-scale oviposition during these seasons.

Résumé

L'estomac de Nezara viridula le plus disséqué (91.6%) se vit remplir (1/2 entièrement-entièrement) de la nourriture et les femmes avaient une activité alimentaire plus grande que les hommes. Les femmes pesaient plus que les hommes (1.3: 1), et un individu pesait plus lourd en octobre qu'en mai. Le développement de L'ovarien s'accordait étroitement avec des femmes diminuant de la graisse, et les insectes prématurés avaient de la graisse au maximum dans L'abdomen. Tandis que les individus ayant L'estomae vide et la graisse légèrement étendue sur le ventre étaient relativement abondants en avril et en mai, impliquant la possibilité de L'oviposition en grand pendant ces saisons.
