Studies of OH and H2O masers contribute to our understanding of the dynamics and physical conditions in the innermost few parsecs of AGN. Angular and velocity resolutions that may be routinely achieved with radio interferometry are substantially better than those possible with traditional observational techniques in the optical and ultraviolet.
