Global Sustainability is a new Open Access, interdisciplinary journal publishing significant advances in science and social science research. It has rigorous peer-review standards set by an international editorial board of the highest calibre, backed by Cambridge University Press and our commitment to quality.
Global sustainability defines the conditions under which humans and nature, societies and the biosphere, the world and the Earth can co-exist in ways that enable productive harmony, stability and resilience to support present and future generations. Global sustainability science explores interactions between social and natural systems, from local to global scales, with a particular focus on sustainability as an avenue for human development in the context of global environmental change and Earth resilience.

We accept research from inter- and multi-disciplinary studies between social- and natural science that explores understanding and solutions of human interactions with Earth dynamics. The journal furthermore accepts research from the disciplines and sectors below, and, in particular at the nexus of multiple areas, for example the ‘food, water, energy nexus’ and pathways to attain the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The journal particularly encourages solutions focused research.
