Kyanite-Gneiss within a Thermal Aureole

Abstract

This preliminary note records two discoveries in the Ross of Mull. Kyanite is considerably more widespread in the Moine rocks than previous investigations have indicated. Where the kyanite-gneiss enters the thermal aureole of the granite, large andalusite paramorphs are formed from kyanite.
