In recently completing, in the valley of St. Girons, and with the cordial assistance of M. Caralp, a pedestrian exploration of the Pyrenees, of which the first results appeared in the Bull. Soc. Ramond of 1866, it occurred to me that my view of the recently published Compte Rendu and the Livret Guide of the Geological Congress might be useful to foreign geologists.
