Mr. W. Carruthers, F.R.S., lately called my attention to the resemblance between some drawings I was showing to him of Hyalostelia fasciculus, M'Coy, sp., and the supposed fossil plant, described and illustrated by Dr. Henry Hicks, F.R.S., in the Geological Magazine for 1869, Vol. VI. p. 534, PL XX. Figs, la-e, under the name of Eophyton? explanatum.
