Extract

The only mention hitherto, so far as I know, of the occurrence of Starfish in British Devonian rocks is that given by Mr. Etheridge in his list of Devonian fossils (Quart Journ. Geol. Soc., vol. xxiii. p. 619), viz. Protaster, sp., and Palæaster, sp., from the Pilton beds of North Devon; therefore the discovery of a species in South Devon rocks may not be without interest.
