Negative Symptoms represent some of the most treatment-resistant and debilitating symptoms of Schizophrenia, and contribute significantly to the social and economic burden of this ailment. In this poster, we critically review the existing literature to appraise the available pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for negative symptoms to formulate a treatment plan. Our conclusion is that, whilst more research is needed, an ideal course of action would involve a combination of anti-psychotics (e.g. amisulpride) with a promptly instituted and comprehensive occupational therapy programme.
