Construction of tools for establishing personality disorders (PD) diagnoses continues to be a challenging issue. Practical and theoretical implications are obvious, and conceptual diversity of existing methods confirms the difficulty of the problem.

We present

1. A) an original method (working title POS-2000) based on interactive approach in evaluating people's behavior as well as

2. B) first empirical data gained using POS-2000 in assessment of known PD's groups.

We have analysed POS-2000 results of 37 inpatients with PD diagnosis determined by Structured interview for personality disorders (Pfohl, B., et al, 1989). Pearson's correlations gave us encouraging results, and it seems that specific configurations of interpersonal behavior may create a direct diagnostic guideline or may serve as additional data for differential diagnosis in mixed personality disorders. Our preliminary data gained using POS-2000 confirm that interactional paradigm of evaluating interpersonal behavior may be fruitful in diagnosing maladaptive behavior.
