P-734 - Visual Field Deficit: an Early Presentation in Dementia

Case report:
Literature shows that visual field deficits is a common finding in alzheimer's dementia. It may even occur before the disease become manifest in it's classical form.Such finding is frequently missed and not searched for by majority of physicians working in the field. as it may occur early in the course of the illness, patients often seek advice with ophthalmological consultations. This case report present a retired university professor presenting visual field defect before clear manifestations of Alzheimer's disease appear. and progressing after with severe visual field deficit as the disease progress. A case report suggesting important screening for dementia in elderly presenting with unexplained Visual Field defects.
