Trastorno de pánico con ataques de pánico nocturnos: síntomas y enfermedades coexistentes

Resumen

Objetivo.

El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la relación entre los ataques de pánico nocturnos y las enfermedades coexistentes, las variables clínicas y los síntomas de ataque de páanico. Ciento seis pacientes con trastorno de pánico según el DSM-IV se incluyeron consecutivamente en el estudio. Los pacientes se dividieron en dos grupos dependiendo de la presencia o no de ataques de pánico nocturnos. Las enfermedades coexistentes se diagnosticaron mediante el SCID-I y el SCID-II. Los grupos se compararon por medio del Inventario de Depresión de Beck, el Inventario de Estado y Rasgos de la Ansiedad y la Lista de Síntomas de la Ansiedad. Los ataques de pánico nocturnos no se relacionaron con las enfermedades coexistentes ni con la edad de inicio de la enfermedad. Las puntuaciones del Inventario de Depresión de Beck, las puntuaciones generales de la Lista de de Síntomas y de las subescalas de somatización, obsesióncompulsión, sensibilidad interpersonal e ira-hostilidad eran mayores en el grupo con ataques de pánico nocturnos. Los pacientes con ataques de pánico nocturnos tienen síntomas respiratorios más frecuentemente, lo que indica que estos ataques pueden estar relacionados con los síntomas respiratorios. Nuestros resultados indican que los pacientes con ataques de pánico nocturnos tienen más síntomas respiratorios relacionados de pánico, depresivos y otros síntomas psiquiátricos que los grupos que no sufren estos ataques.
