Predictores de la mejoría en la calidad de vida de individuos enfermos mentales a largo plazo que recibieron gestión de casos

Resumen

Se investigó a 113 clientes enfermos mentales a largo plazo que recibían gestión de casos con respecto a los predictores psicosociales y clínicos de los cambios en la calidad subjetiva de vida durante un seguimiento de 18 meses. Un funcionamiento psicosocial mejor y un número menor de síntomas psiquiátricos en la línea de base predecían una mejoría más grande en la calidad de vida. Se identificó una disminución mayor en la gravedad de los síntomas y una mejora más grande en la red social durante el seguimiento como los predictores más importantes de una mejoría mayor en la calidad subjetiva de vida. Los resultados del estudio indican que se debería poner énfasis en el tratamiento eficaz de los síntomas, una reducción de las necesidades de asistencia y el apoyo social para cumplir los propósitos de mejorar la calidad subjetiva de vida en los pacientes que reciben gestión de casos.
