Abstract

Since the discovery of galactic masers in the mid 1960s, theirstudies have resulted in remarkable deepening of the understanding ofphysical processes in the interstellar medium and stars. This reviewpresents a brief historical retrospective and current status of radioastronomy studies of masing molecules that trace various stages ofstelar evolution.
