Advanced Millimeter Wave SIS Mixers

Abstract

Receivers for the millimeter and sub-millimeter range employ SIS mixers for the coherent detection of astronomical signals. A very brief overview of the theory of SIS mixers is given, followed bya presentation of recent mixer development at IRAM.
