Nowadays, especially in American books and periodicals, we see ‘anymore’ almost as often as ‘any more’. GERRY ABBOTT has looked at such new composite forms and speculates about where they might be going.
1 ‘Collection of choice passages, esp. to help in learning a language’ (COD). A useful word for teachers. Why not revive it?
2 I have come across this use of EVERYDAY many times, but happen to have no example in my chrestomathy!
3 LDOCE does list NO PLACE, but as separate words forming one headword. COD has no entry for this.
