Notes

1 ‘Collection of choice passages, esp. to help in learning a language’ (COD). A useful word for teachers. Why not revive it?

2 I have come across this use of EVERYDAY many times, but happen to have no example in my chrestomathy!

3 LDOCE does list NO PLACE, but as separate words forming one headword. COD has no entry for this.
