Humberto Nicolini, MD, PhD was born and raised in Mexico City. He obtained his medical and psychiatry training degree at Universidad Nacional Autonoma of Mèxico (UNAM). He also trained in the area of genetics at the Neuropsychiatric Institute, at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the mentorship of M. Anne Spence, PhD and Lewis Baxter, MD. Currently, Dr. Nicolini is the Chief of the Laboratory of Psychiatric Genetics at Psychiatric Services and the National Institute of Genomic Medicine in the Minister of Health, as well as the Director of the OCD Mexican Association and Carracci Medical Group in Mexico City. Dr. Nicolini has also started a project that addresses personalized medicine in psychiatric disorders, addiction and neurodegenerative disorders.
