Interlayer complexes of lanthanide-montmorillonites with amines

Abstract

Sorption interlayer complexes of n-butylamine, sec-butylamine, iso-butylamine and diethylamine with homoionic Ln-montmorillonites (Ln = La, Sm, Gd, Er, Y) have been prepared. Compositions of the complexes are of the type: [Ln(butylamine)4]3+ and [Ln-(diethylamine)2]3+. The disposition of amine molecules surrounding the ion, the interaction between the amine group and the Ln3+ ion, and the strength of the ion-dipole bond have been studied by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and differential thermal analysis.

Han sido obtenidos complejos interlaminares de sorción de montmorillonitas lantánidas (Ln = La. Sm, Gd, Er, Y) con n-butilamina, sec-butilamina, iso-butilamina y dietilamina. La composición de los complejos resultó ser [Ln(butilamina)4]3+ y [Ln(dietilamina)2]3+. La disposición de las moléculas de amina alrededor del ion, la interacción entre el grupo amino y el ión Ln3+, y la fuerza del enlace ión-dipolo ha sido estudiado por difracción de rayos X, espectroscopia infrarroja y análisis térmico diferencial.

On a préparé des complexes interfoliaires par adsorption de n-butylamine, sec-butylamine, iso-butylamine et diéthylamine sur des montmorillonites homioniques (Ln = La, Sm, Gd, Er, Y). Les compositions de ces complexes sont: [Ln(butylamine)4]3+ et [Ln(diéthylamine)2]3+. La disposition des molécules d'amine autour des ions, l'interaction entre les amines et l'ion Ln3+ et la force de la liaison ion-dipole ont été étudiées par diffraction des rayons X, spectroscopie infra-rouge et analyse thermique différentielle.

Es wurden sorptiv gebundene Zwischenschichtkomplexe von n-Butylamin, sec-Butylamin, iso-Butylamin und Diethylamin mit homoionischen Ln-Montmorilloniten (Ln = La, Sm, Gd, Er, Y) hergestellt. Die Zusammensetzungen der Komplexe sind vom Typ: [Ln (Butylamin)4]3+ und [Ln (Diethylamin)2]3+. Die Anordnung der das Ion umgebenden Amin-Moleküle, die Wechselwirkung zwischen der Amingruppe und dem Ln3+-Ion sowie die Stärke der Ion-Dipol Bindung wurde mittels Röntgenbeugung, IR und DTA untersucht.
