1 It is of interest that Scotsmen who protest against the use of ‘England’ instead of ‘Britain,’ and Germans who dislike ‘Prussia’ being used as if it applied to all Germany, might draw some support from the deliberate purism of Virgil and Horace in the use of ‘Italia.’
