1 In the end D. vagueiy accepts the Dz.-J. theory. It is unfortunate that C. W. Keyes' paper on ‘Half-sister Marriage in New Comedy and the Epidicus’ (T.A.P.A. 71, 1940, 217 ff.Google Scholar) was published too late for D. to use. We now know that Fraenkel was right, and that the end of the Greek original was not substantially altered by Plautus.
