1 In a sense each individual has a unique ‘quality’. Dion was the Stoics' favourite example in their logic, but they could have chosen ‘this particular grey dove’ and asserted that she was cooing or sitting on her eggs. These were the ‘facts of life’ for them rather than increasingly ‘common’ qualities.
