In this issue we have, as ever, a diverse group of articles. We always seek to publish high quality articles on all topics relevant to heart disease in the children and young people and on congenital heart disease in patients of any age. I am particularly pleased that we have papers from a wide range of countries reflecting our international perspective. We are keen to publish papers from authors from all parts of the world that can address issues of heart disease in children in different settings. As a journal, we will always do our best to support authors whose first language in not English and not reject a paper purely on grounds of incorrect English usage. Despite this, I would emphasise that authors who are not confident writers of English should seek help from a fluent English speaker before they submit their article for review. Reviewers often report that in such cases difficulty in understanding the use of language can make it very difficult for them to give an authoritative opinion on particular papers. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to undertake a major re-edit of papers on authors’ behalf. So regardless of our intentions, we sometimes do have to reject papers simply because of the amount of work needed to improve the intelligibility of the text. My apologies to any authors concerned. I encourage you to persevere in your work and we will do all we can to assist.
