Abstract

This is an informative book on aging designed for the educated layperson, not the professional gerontologist or a student in an introductory social gerontology course. It covers demography, health care, pensions, retirement, leisure, education, and politics. An appendix gives useful information on sources of information in every province.

Cet ouvrage s'avère édifiant et s'adresse aux profanes renseignés et non aux gérontologues professionels ou aux étudiants inscrits à un cours d'initiation à la gérontologie sociale. L'auteur touche plusieurs domaines, soit les considérations démographiques, les soins médicaux, les pensions, les retraites, les loisirs, l'éducation et les mécanismes régulatoires. Une appendice nous initie è plusieurs sources d'information établies dans toutes les provinces.
