The Farey sequence of order h — 1 consists of the reduced rational fractions from 0 to 1 inclusive, with denominators less than h, and arranged in order of magnitude. Thus, if h = 6, the sequence is

(1) 0/1,1/5, 1/4,1/3, 2/5, 1/2, 3/5, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5, 1/1.
