TAXONOMIC NOTES ON THREE BLACK-BORDERED MYZOCALLIS FROM OAK IN NORTH AMERICA WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF TWO NEW SPECIES (HOMOPTERA: APHIDIDAE)

Abstract

A redescription of Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) melanocera Boudreaux & Tissot is given, and Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) neoborealis sp.nov. and Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) atropunctatus sp.nov. are described. Lectotypes for M. (L.) melanocera and Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) walshii (Monell) were designated. Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) occultas Richards is declared a new synonym of M. (L.) walshii. The taxonomic affinities of these aphids are discussed.

Résumé

Une redescription de Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) melanocera Boudreaux & Tissot est donnée, et Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) neoborealis sp.nov. et Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) atropunctatus sp.nov. sont décrits. Des lectotypes de M. (L.) melanocera et de Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) walshii ont été établis. Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) occultus Richards est déclaré un nouveau synonyme de M. (L.) walshii. Les affinités taxonomiques de ces pucerons sont discutées.
