Extract

During the latter part of September, and early in October, 1891, I spent two weeks in London, and most of the time in the entomological rooms of the British Museum. My aim was, primarily, to identify the noctuids described by Walker, and in this I succeeded, the MSS. incorporatig the notes there made being now in the hands of the printer. So large is the material in this magnificent collection, that I found opportunity for only a very hasty glace at other families of the Heterocera, and on a few species only I made brief notes.
