Extract

I have quoted, Synops. Hemerob., p. 457, as belonging to Pamexis, a new species figured in Seba Thesaur., vol. iv., pl. 86, f. 20. The explanation says, “Color pallide subfuscus, maculis suture fuscis.” I can not here compare a colored copy of Seba's work, nevertheless the figure proves to be a male of a species of Pamexis without antennæ. The figures of insects in Seba are not good; but as the species belongs surely to Pamexis, and is larger than the other known species, and different from them, I wish to draw attention to the existence of a new species of this curious genus.
