REVIEW OF SCHIZOPHRAGMA OGLOBLIN AND THE NON-AUSTRALIAN SPECIES OF STETHYNIUM ENOCK (HYMENOPTERA: MYMARIDAE)

Abstract

Stethynium Enock, a mainly old world genus most of whose members occur in Australia, is redescribed based on study of the non-Australian species. The subgenus Neostethynium Ogloblin is removed from Stethynium and given generic status. The names S. faunum Girault and S. empoascae Subba Rao are synonymized under S. triclavatum Enock. A lectotype is designated for S. triclavatum. Stethynium angustipennesp. n. is described.

Schizophragma Ogloblin, formerly a subgenus of Patasson, is redescribed as a genus. Anaphes bicolor Dozier and Stethynium annulatum Doutt are transferred to Schizophragma. The names S. annulatum and S. nana Ogloblin are synonymized, respectively, under S. bicolor and S. parvula Ogloblin. Lectotypes are designated for S. bicolor (Dozier) and S. latipennis (Crawford). A provisional key to the species of Schizophragma is presented.

Stethynium Enock est redécrit basé sur une étude des espèces non-Australiennes. Le sous-genre Neostethynium Ogloblin est enlevé du genre Stethynium et accordé le statut de genre. Les noms S. faunum Girault et S. empoascae Subba Rao sont synonymizés sous S. triclavatum Enock. Un lectotype est désigné pour S. triclavatum. Stethynium angustipennesp. n. est décrite.

Schizophragma Ogloblin autrefois considéré comme sous-genre d’Anaphes, est redécrit comme un genre. Anaphes bicolor Dozier et Stethynium annulatum Doutt sont transférées au genre Schizophragma. Les nom S. annulatum et S. nana Ogloblin sont synonymizés, respectivement, sous S. bicolor et S. parvula Ogloblin. Des lectotypes sont désignés pour S. bicolor (Dozier) et S. latipennis (Crawford). Une clef provisionnelle des espèces de Schizophragma est présentée.
