NEW SPECIES OF TIPULIDAE FROM THE PALEOCENE OF CENTRAL ALBERTA, CANADA

Abstract

Three new species of fossil Tipulidae are described. Pseudolimnophila speirsae n. sp. and Limnophila marklae n. sp. (subfamily Limoniinae, tribe Hexatomini) are represented by adults; Tipula tubifera n. sp. (subfamily Tipulinae, tribe Tipulini) is represented by a pupa. Six other pupae belong to the subfamily Tipulinae.

Résumé

Trois nouvelles espèces de Tipulidae fossiles sont décrites. Pseudolimnophila speirsae n.sp. et Limnophila marklae n.sp. (sous-famille Limoniinae, Tribu Hexatomini) sont représentées par des adultes; Tipula tubifera n.sp. (sous-famille Tipulinae, Tribu Tipulini) est représenté par une nymphe. Six autres nymphes appartiennent à la sous-famille Tipulinae.
