A NEW SPECIES OF BRACHYPOGON (DIPTERA: CERATOPOGONIDAE), THE FIRST RECORD OF THE GENUS IN CANADA

Abstract
Brachypogon canadensis n. sp. is described from western Quebec; the known range of the species extends southwards to Florida. It is perhaps most nearly allied to the widespread Palaearctic species B. vitiosus (Winnertz).
