A new species of Arthula (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Cryptinae) from Korea, and its intraspecific seasonal variation

Abstract

A new species, Arthula biformis Oh and Lee sp. nov., belonging to the cryptine ichneumonid subtribe Sphecophagina Beirne is described from Korea. The new species is composed of two seasonal forms, overwintering and summer, distinguished by color and some morphological features. The overwintering form is much darker than the summer form. Keys to the genera of Sphecophagina and the known species of Arthula Cameron and photographs of diagnostic characters of both color forms of the new species are provided.

Résumé

Nous décrivons une nouvelle espèce de Corée, Arthula biformis Oh et Lee sp. nov., appartenant à la sous-tribu Sphecophagina Beirne des ichneumonidés cryptinés. La nouvelle espèce comprend deux formes saisonnières, une d'hivernage et l'autre d'été, qui se distinguent par leur coloration et quelques caractéristiques morphologiques. La forme d'hivernage est beaucoup plus foncée que la forme d'été. Nous fournissons des clefs d'identification des genres de Sphecophagina et des espèces connues d'Arthula Cameron, ainsi que des photographies et des illustrations des caractères diagnostiques des deux formes de couleur de la nouvelle espèce.
