A NEW GENUS AND THREE NEW SPECIES OF APHIDS FROM QUERCUS CALLIPRINOS WEBB IN THE MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES (HOMOPTERA: APHIDIDAE)

Abstract

Siculaphis vittoriensis gen.nov., sp.nov., Myzocallis (Hoplocallis) microsiphon sp.nov., and M. (Agrioaphis) cocciferina sp.nov. are described. The new taxa have a Mediterranean distribution, and Quercus calliprinos Webb is their main host. Accounts are given of their morphology, taxonomic position, and ecology. A key is presented for the four species in the subgenus Hoplocallis.

Résumé

Siculaphis vittoriensis gen. nov., sp. nov., Myzocallis (Hoplocallis) microsiphon sp. nov., et M. (Agrioaphis) cocciferina sp.nov. sont décrites. La distribution des nouveaux taxa se situe dans le bassin méditerranéen où Quercus calliprinos Webb est leur hôte principal. Un compte rendu est donné sur leur morphologie, leur position taxonomique et leur écologie. On fournit une clé pour l’identification des quatre espèces du sous-genre Hoplocallis.
