A NEW GENUS AND SPECIES OF ORTHOPTERA (ACRIDOIDEA: ACRIDIDAE) FROM SONORA, MEXICO

Abstract

Astehelius crypticus, a new genus and species of Orthoptera from Sonora, Mexico, is described. This taxon closely resembles the oedipodine genus Heliastus but is shown to belong to a different subfamily, the Gomphocerinae.
