A Laboratory-rearing Method for Observing Adult Bark Beetles and Their Developing Broods1

Abstract

A method is described for the laboratory rearing of adult bark beetles and their broods in whole bark. A Petri dish rearing chamber is described, which maintains bark moisture at a relatively constant level for periods of up to two months and permits observation of adults and immature stages.
