INVESTIGATIONS OF EGG NICHES, EGGS, AND RATE OF OVIPOSITION FOR DENDROCTONUS FRONTALIS (COLEOPTERA: SCOLYTIDAE)1

Abstract

Relationships of egg niches and eggs per unit (cm) of gallery were studied. On average egg niches were found to overestimate eggs by 36%. The rate of egg deposition in the mid-portion of the infested bole was found to be less than the upper and lower portion.
