AN ELECTRICAL CAUTERIZER FOR INSECT LARVAE

Abstract

When Rhyacionia buoliana larvae were confined with adults of the parasite Hyssopus thymus in gelatin capsules, the larvae regurgitated on the parasites and/or chewed out of the capsules. Instructions for constructing and using an electrical device for cauterizing the mouthparts of the larvae and a suction accessory for holding them are given.
