THE AMBROSIA FUNGUS OF XYLOSANDRUS GERMANUS (COLEOPTERA: SCOLYTIDAE)1

Abstract

The ambrosia fungus of Xylosandrus germanus (Blandford) was identified as Ambrosiella hartigii Batra and was the only fungus carried in the beetle's mycangium. This fungus and up to three species of Fusarium were isolated from walls of the beetle's galleries.

Résumé

L'ambrosie de Xylosandrus germanus (Blandford) a été identifié comme étant l'Ambrosiella hartigi Batra, aucune autre espèce de cryptogame n'ayant été identifiée dans le mycangium du coléoptère. Ce champignon ainsi que trois espèces de Fusarium ont été identifiés à partir des parois des galleries du coléoptère.
