World review of the genus Tinocallis (Hemiptera: Aphididae, Calaphidinae) with description of a new species

Abstract

The aphid genus Tinocallis Matsumura is revised on a worldwide basis. Notes on its taxonomic position and evolutionary history and a key for the 21 species are presented. Tinocallis ussuriensis Pashtshenko and T. nevskyi lianchengensis Zhang and Qiao are proposed as synonyms of T. takachihoensis, and T. sapporoensis Higuchi is proposed as a synonym of T. nikkoensis Higuchi, T. allozelkowae Zhang and Zhong as a synonym of T. viridis (Takahashi), and T. magnoliae AK Ghosh and Raychaudhuri as a synonym of T. insularis (Takahashi). Tinocallis distinctus MR Ghosh, AK Ghosh and Raychaudhuri is returned to the subgenus Tinocallis s.s. from the subgenus Quednaucallis Chakrabarti. A lectotype designation was made for T. viridis (Takahashi). Tinocallis dalbergicolasp.nov. from Dalbergia hancei Benth. (Fabaceae) in Hong Kong is described and illustrated. It is closely related to T. caryaefoliae (Davis) and T. himalayensis AK Ghosh, MR Ghosh and Raychaudhuri, but has much longer antennae and longer spinal body processes. It also differs from the former species by the smooth mesonotum and from the latter species in having the forewing hyaline and with a complete radial sector.

Le genre de pucerons Tinocallis Matsumura est révisé à l’échelle mondiale avec des notes sur sa position taxonomique, son histoire évolutive et une clé pour les 21 espèces connues. Tinocallis ussuriensis Pashtshenko et T. nevskyi lianchengensis Zhang et Qiao sont proposés comme synonymes de T. takachihoensis, et T. sapporoensis Higuchi est proposé comme synonyme de T. nikkoensis Higuchi, T. allozelkowae Zhang et Zhong comme synonyme de T. viridis (Takahashi) et T. magnoliae AK Ghosh et Raychaudhuri comme synonyme de T. insularis (Takahashi). Tinocallis distinctus MR Ghosh, AK Ghosh et Raychaudhuri est rétabli dans le sous-genre Tinocallis s.s. du sous-genre Quednaucallis Chakrabarti. Un lectotype fut choisi pour T. viridis (Takahashi). Tinocallis dalbergicolasp.nov. inféodé sur Dalbergia hancei à Hong Kong est décrit et illustré. Il se trouve avoisiné de T. caryaefoliae (Davis) et T. himalayensis AK Ghosh, MR Ghosh et Raychaudhuri, mais possède des antennes plus longues et des processus spinaux du corps plus allongés. Il diffère aussi de la première espèce par le mésonotum lisse et de la dernière espèce par l’aile antérieure hyaline et fournie d’un secteur radial complet.
