THE STYLETS OF THE GREEN PEACH APHID, MYZUS PERSICAE (HOMOPTERA: APHIDIDAE)1

Abstract

The morphology and fine structure of the maxillary and mandibular stylets of the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), are described from sections, whole mounts, and two-stage replicas. The mechanisms of penetration of the host plant are discussed.
