There has been much said, pro and con, on the species known as Euphydryas editha Bdv., and its forms, but it seems that the last word is still unspoken.

For several months I have been working on the problem presented by this group, and it seems that the race found in the San Francisco Bay region has, by oversight, never been recorded. My attention was also drawn to this fact by Dr. McDunnough of Ottawa, to whom must go the credit.
