We have much pleasure in recording that on the 20th of April last the Degree of “Doctor Philosophiæ Materialis” was conferred (honoris causa) upon Baron Charles Robert Osten Sacken, by the University of Heidelberg. This recognition of an Entomologist who as done such eminent service in North America will, we are sure, be very gratifying to our readers.
