THE LIFE CYCLE OF CORTICEUS GLABER (COLEOPTERA: TENEBRIONIDAE), A. FACULTATIVE PREDATOR OF THE SOUTHERN PINE BEETLE, DENDROCTONUS FRONTALIS (COLEOPTERA: SCOLYTIDAE)

Abstract

The life cycle of Corticeus glaber (LeConte) was investigated at 25 °C and 60% R.H. The developmental time from egg to adult for C. glaber ranged from 30 to 41 days and five larval instars were determined from head capsule measurements. The mature larva is described.

Le cycle vital de Corticeus glaber (LeConte) a été étudié à 25 °C et 60% H.R. Le temps de développement de l'oeuf à l'adulte a varié de 30 à 41 jours et 5 stades larvaires ont été dénombrés à partir de mesures de la capsule céphalique. La larve enfin de développement est décrite.
