a In Part I. pp. 81, 82 of “The Trevelyan Papers” are inserted two documents from an ancient parchment volume belonging to the Trevelyan family. The two documents which we now print apparently relate to the same matter at a somewhat subsequent date. They are both on parchment, and both without day or month. See also Collect. Top. et Geneal. ii. p. 391.
