page 233 note a From the Collection of John Webster, Esq., M.P. It is an account of the last attempt at accommodation by Leighton with the Presbyterian irreconcilables. A full account of Law, who was conspicuous among his fellow-ministers, will be found in Dr. Scott's Fasti Ecclesiœ Scoticœ. He died Dec. 26, 1712, aged 80. He was one of the “ outed ” ministers of 1662, was apparently restored in 1679 ; in 1694 he was Moderator of the General Assembly.
